Welcome

Welcome to the DJ Science beat blog. I am a hip hop producer out of Chicago and soon enough, this will be my official site for beat sales (via PayPal). Before I get to posting music, here are a few of my philosophies on hip hop production today:
  • 98% of the "producers" selling beats online sound exactly the same. They get the same damn synths from the same damn software and make the same damn beats. They then win beat battles and make mad sales on websites such as rocbattle.com and beatswagger.com. If you want to buy some unartistic crap, hit up one of those sites.
  • Sampling is a vital part of making beats. Personally, I prefer to use short samples as raw sound to work with, rather than programming around a sampled loop. Many of my beats do not use samples. I prefer to sell the non-sampling ones.
  • Whenever people hear a beat and, they say it is "boring" and/or just "the same thing over and over again," they are really being unintellingent. A beat should not distract from the lyricist.
So now that you know what I'm all about, let's hear some music!
